Msamiati: Prepositions

  • baina ya – between (two things)
  • badala ya – instead of
  • chini ya – under, below
  • juu ya – on top of
  • kabla ya – before
  • kando ya – beside, along
  • karibu na – near, close to
  • katika – in, inside, on, at, into
  • katikati ya – in between
  • kati ya – between (among several things)
  • mbali na – far from
  • mbele ya – in front of
  • miongoni mwa – among
  • ndani ya – inside, in
  • nje ya – outside of
  • nyuma ya – behind
  • baada ya – after
