The salad is intended to serve 10 people. In groups of 2-3, prepare a brief recipe that outlines the ingredients needed and the quantities of each. Then, provide step-by-step instructions on how to prepare the fruit salad

You meet a teacher at one of the local elementary schools in your area, and you mention that you are taking Swahili at your institution. She invites you to teach her class about one cultural aspect of the Swahili-speaking communities. You decide to teach the students how to cook Chipsi Mayai. Below, prepare for your class by listing the ingredients and step-by-step directions for preparing the dish.

Zoezi la 3: Video Simulation

In small groups of 2-3, role-play a scenario where you will simulate planning a meal to cook an East African meal. First, you will decide on ingredients to buy at the market, and then discuss the preparation steps. Once everything is ready, you will record yourself either making the meal or doing a simulation. You will present your simulation to the class for evaluation. Your ability to negotiate meaning, ask and answer questions, and use appropriate conversational turns will be assessed.
