Introduction

¡Bienvenides a SPA3304!

This course is designed to meet the needs of speakers of Spanish as a heritage language—individuals who share a personal connection to the language that manifests in various ways. This group includes students who have been exposed to Spanish from a young age, albeit to different extents and in different contexts.

The main goals of Spanish 3304 are for students to strengthen their advanced Spanish language skills while fostering a deeper appreciation for their heritage. This also includes developing critical awareness about social issues affecting the Latinx community in the United States, enabling students to respond to these issues in effective and informed ways. More specifically, students will focus on building strong argumentation skills for both written and oral exposition.
