Europa and the Bull

As we have seen to date, Ovid and the OM influenced and catalyzed the creation of new textual storytelling traditions. These collections of mythological tales also impacted Western art on a massive scale. Taking as a point of departure the tale and moralizations of Europa, we’ll explore the cycle of illuminations in the Rouen MS and other key works of Western art.
