Daughters of Minyas

Today we turn to yet another famous trope in literature and drama: the star-crossed lovers Piramus and Thisbe, incorporated by William Shakespeare into A Midsummer Night’s Dream and a significant source of inspiration for Romeo and Juliet. The tale is included as part of a series told by the daughters of Minyas, who refuse to participate in the drunken festivities of Bacchus (or Liber), god of wine. Class today will take the form of an open Q&A led by students, with Dr. SJM responding to questions, in a demonstration of a live interview.
